Wildflower

I grew up between the cracks in the concrete

Nobody watered me but I still found the heat

I reached my roots down deep into the unknown

And pushed my way up standing on my own

They walked right past me never saw me grow

But I was blooming in the undertow

I don't need a garden I don't need a name

I just need the sunlight and the rain

I'm a wildflower growing where I please

I'm a wildflower dancing in the breeze

You can try to tame me but I'll break free

I'm a wildflower wild and free

Blooming in the cracks blooming in the rain

Wildflower I'll bloom again

Some flowers need a greenhouse and a plan

But I grew strong because nobody can

Define the way I grow or where I stand

I'm rooted in the palm of my own hand

Every storm that tried to knock me down

Just made my roots go deeper in the ground

Wildflower wild and free
