I wanted to tell you everything

The fear the nights the cost

But instead I sent a smile

And a little lying lots

I'm fine I said

I'm doing really well

Two small and easy syllables that cover up the hell

You said you're glad to hear it

And you meant it I could tell

I'm fine I said again

And watch the light sit and swell

The truth would only hurt you

And what could that do?

So I'll keep on being fine

For as long as I can to you
