Rain forgot to fall today

So light began to take its place

It drips from clouds of quiet white

A slow sweet drizzle made of light

The window hums a golden tune

A sleepy warmth across the room

Tea in hand I hum along

Half a word, half a song

The air is pale, the hour kind

Soft reflections cross my mind

Every drop that finds my sight

Is just a slow drizzle of light

I hear the city breathing low

A rhythm soft enough to know

Each moment falls and stays awhile

Melting the silence in gentle decay

No rush, no reason, nothing to hide

Just soft illumination inside

Curtains shimmer, faint and thin

Shadow waltzes fade within

The room forgets its darker side

Bathed in warmth the sun supplied

I taste the time so smooth, so slight

This hour's made of honey light

Somewhere between the hush and gleam

I fall into a waking dream

Nothing happens, yet it feels right

To drown in this drizzle of light
