Train to California - Elis Country Soul
On this train to California state
I'm just rolling on the tracks of fate
Looking out the window at the view
Seeing faces that I once thought I knew
Sometimes sweet and sometimes bitter cold
Watching how this life is starting to unfold
Passing through the sunshine and the rain
Feeling all the pleasure and the pain
Saw a rich man smile at a poor man cry
Underneath the same old endless sky
Life is just a mix of good and bad
Sometimes happy and sometimes real sad
Clickety-clack like the wheels keep turning round
Traveling from town to lonely town
Taste of sour and taste of something sweet
On this rugged path beneath my feet
It's a long way to the golden west
Searching for a place where I can finally rest
See the whole world fatten in the dust
In these iron wheels I put my trust
E-R-Stetson has a different face
Running slowly in this human race
Loose guitarist singing soft and low
Teaching me the things I need to know
All in all
Almost gone
California
I'm coming home
